To provide a basic level of knowledge and skill to render First Aid in a range of emergency situations within a reasonable distance of medical assistance. On this 8-hour first aid course, you will cover the basics of first aid including;
- Airway & breathing problems
- Circulation Problems
- Wounds & Bleeding
- Heat and Cold effects
There is no formal assessment at the end of the course. This course will cover the first aid requirements for the RYA Instructor Pathway.
Do I get a certificate?
Candidates who demonstrate a sound knowledge and understanding of the skills and theory covered in the course will be awarded the BC Aquatic First Aid.
All courses are subject to sufficient numbers and suitable weather conditions and are non-residential. In the case of insufficient numbers being booked you will be notified in the week leading up to the course and offered an alternative date.
Session times included kitting-up and safety & equipment briefing.
