A kayak is a type of canoe used originally by the Inuit, made of a light frame with a watertight covering having a small opening in the top to sit in, these are used with a paddle with a blade at either end.
Whether you fancy giving a new sport a go, looking for a hobby, looking for a unusual gift for someone’s birthday; this is the session for you. Under the guidance of our qualified and experienced instructors you will get a great introduction into the sport and what you can achieve.
Our 2 hour kayak lessons are run on flat water and are designed to be a fun introduction for novices to the sport. What you learn will depend on the group, but by the end of the session you should be able to paddle in a straight line, reverse, turn round, stop and get out in a hurry as well as playing some games and getting a bit wet!
All courses are subject to sufficient numbers and suitable weather conditions and are non-residential. In the case of insufficient numbers being booked you will be notified in the week leading up to the course and offered an alternative date.
