You will learn and develop a range of skills required for understanding dinghy racing and getting out onto the race course for the first time. An experienced RYA Racing Instructor will take you through the race signals and start sequence, how to start a race and sail the course, mark roundings, racing rules, tactics and boat tuning.
It is a pre-requisite for all course members to have sailing and knowledge to at least the standard of the Level 2 course. Young Adults are welcome (11-18) as well.
All course costs include safety equipment, certificates, wetsuit and qualified instructors
Do I get a certificate?
The course follows the syllabus of the Royal Yachting Association’s Start Racing and these will be presented at the end of the course.
All courses are subject to sufficient numbers and suitable weather conditions and are non-residential. In the case of insufficient numbers being booked you will be notified in the week leading up to the course and offered an alternative date.
